Anna-Katharina Thoma

Assistant Director (2026)

Anna-Katharina Thoma grew up in a family of musicians and began violin lessons at the age of five. During her youth, she was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Youth Orchestra for four years and won a first federal prize at the Jugend musiziert competition in 2016.

After completing her bachelor's degree in music education in Mannheim, she moved to Munich to earn a master’s degree in culture and music management. Her professional path has since led her to roles at an artists’ agency in Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Central Service of the Bavarian State Theatres, and the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland, among others.

Since early 2024, Anna-Katharina Thoma has served as manager of the State Youth Orchestra and the State Orchestra Competition in Rhineland-Palatinate — making her one of the youngest orchestra managers in Germany.

Anna is delighted to be working with Triorca on a project basis until mid-2026, acting as local co-ordinator and a contact for Triorca activities in the Koblenz Tour in July 2026.
