Andrew read Music at the University of East Anglia and completed his Masters in Composition & Orchestration in 2020 with Thinkspace Education Film Scoring School, University of Chicester. He enjoys a varied career as a music educator, composer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist. A prolific, award-winning British composer, Andrew has written music across a wide range of genres including choral works, orchestral scores, contemporary folk as well as music for film and television. As a media composer he has written commercially for Hitpoint Music Production Library with TV placements including BBC Two’s Gardeners’ World. & The Chelsea Flower Show. Latest choral works include a fully orchestrated ‘Mass for Planet Earth’, and 3 Christmas Motets; O Magnum Mysterium, Lux Fulgebit & Veni, Veni O Oriens (O Radiant Dawn); the latter for British Saxophonist Finlay McEwen.
Andrew has extensive experience working with both amateur and professional ensembles as a musical conductor, having directed musical theatre bands, the City of Prague Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, Norwich Baroque, The Morley Consort of Voices, Norwich School Joint Choral Society & UEA Chamber Choir. An ardent supporter of music education, Andrew is currently Head of Composition at Norwich School where he has worked for a decade including roles as Head of Instrumental Music, Acting Head of Academic Music, Tutor-to-Choristers & Deputy Choral Director of the school’s choirs. Andrew has worked with local and national organisations such as English Touring Opera, The Royal College of Music, Turtle Arts, the Norfolk Music Service & CASMA. A passionate singer, percussionist and accordionist, Andrew appears on 3 discs with contemporary English folk band Inlay who he toured with for the best part of 10 years. He sings regularly with Norwich Cathedral Choir as a bass lay clerk and has enjoyed touring, broadcasting on BBC Radio 3 and singing on their latest CD releases including Evening Hymn; Music of Light, & Benjamin Britten - Sacred Choral Works.
