From the Director:
We were delighted to bring back the Triorca initiative after the challenges of the COVID pandemic, with Triorca’s 7th International Summer School taking place in August 2024 in the beautiful medieval city of Norwich, in the East of England, UK. The course welcomed students aged 16–26, offering them the chance to develop their orchestral playing as part of a vibrant and supportive collective. Set in the inspiring location of Norwich Cathedral Close, the programme created outstanding opportunities for young musicians to strengthen their skills, make new connections, and learn from world-class tutors in a nurturing environment. Culminating in concerts in Norwich and Cambridge, the project brought together young people from three countries to perform side by side once again—deepening the European friendships and cultural ties that have always been at the heart of Triorca. In July 2025, the project continued with it's 8th tour to the stunning city of Rouen in Normandy, where we officially established new links with French musicians, building on the longstanding twinning connections between Norwich and Rouen. Although political circumstances meant a planned tour to Serbia could not take place, we were fortunate to be able to welcome Serbian musicians to join us in the 2025 project. Looking ahead, planning is already underway for Triorca’s role in the 2027 European Year of the Normans, as well as our annual tour in 2026, which we hope will take us to either Serbia or Germany.
